Had a fantastic time at Docklands Marriott! Location was great, the room was lovely and the welcome drink on arrival was a nice touch 😊 staff were friendly and accommodating. The rooftop pool was relaxing and beautiful. Tho it had a fair bit of people, it didn't bother us as everyone just kept to their own spot. It has lots of eateries around, Woolies, Chemist and free tram stop are all right across from the hotel. Will definitely come back and recommend!

All in and all, it was a nice stay. Easy transport with the tram across the road to go into CBD.
Staff were friendly. Rooms nice and clean.
Buffet selection at breakfast was fantastic although they definitely need more seating, we had to wait 5/10 mins (not in school holiday time). Could be an issue in school holidays.

Enjoyable stay with only a few minor tweaks to make it fantastic!
The staff were amazing—super friendly, welcoming, and helpful (big shoutout to Sam!). The hotel itself is modern with some really nice interior touches. Great location too, plus there’s a free city circle tram stop right outside, which was super convenient.
That said, the gardens on each level were pretty much dead, probably due to lack of irrigation. It’s a small thing, but it does make the place look a little sad—definitely an easy fix. The pool area is nice, though it would be great if a staff member could be stationed there during open hours to keep it clean. There was a bit of leftover food, trash, empty glasses, and towels lying around, which made the small space feel cramped and not very inviting until it got cleaned up.
Overall, a really pleasant stay, and with a couple of minor tweaks, it could be excellent. I’m hoping the Docklands area picks up a bit—it has a lot of potential and could really become a must-do for visitors if a few decent shops/businesses/restaurants opened there!

A terrible experiene
Absolutely disappointed on arrival. The check-in experience was terrible. I had to wait almost half an hour to be served. I also had to wait over an hour as my room wasn't ready! - despite a check in time of 3pm
The hotel seems very understaffed and to my disgust the pool was absolutely overcrowded.
I feel sorry for the hotel maintenance staff as they were getting abused by the housekeeping and the wider hotel team.

Overall, our stay was very disappointing and I expected a lot more from the Marriott brand. Positive points are friendly reception staff, smiling, welcoming and a very well appointed room, good decor and extremely clean in the room. However, I wasn't able to give a better cleanliness score as there wasn't enough staff to keep the pool and bar area clean during the time we visited. The number of children wasn't great if you are trying to project a high end hotel. It was a very family friendly place, thus for others reading it, don't come here if you are looking for a couples' relaxing escape. It was very messy poolside - we attended twice during the day - mid afternoon and 8pm and it was awful both times. Archer's was also extremely understaffed for dinner. The one waitress did the best job possible and she was friendly and courteous but you cannot expect her to deliver the service to the whole restaurant. Also, for quality you are trying to project, you might want to refresh your drinks menus as the paper is significantly frayed. Overall, a very disappointing stay and I will not recommend to friends and family. You also have poor maintenance on 6th floor as numbers to rooms are missing on right corner exiting the lifts. Please see photographic evidence.
