Loved it!

After our trip to bustling Medellin, we truly appreciated our stay at Amargal because of its peacefulness. It's a magical place close to both the beach and the jungle. We enjoyed every moment of it and would highly recommend it. Jazz is a skilled tour guide with extensive knowledge of the surroundings, and we thoroughly enjoyed our outings with him. Nicole is very friendly and helpful with everything you might need. If you want to fully relax, this is the place to be.

A spectacular and VERY unique place in Colombia

Beautiful, clean beds, shared bathrooms but very comfortable. The Reservation overlooks the sea and whales are seen in the distance. Jazz knows a lot about the jungle and each tour was telling us about his anecdotes and the divine ecosystem. We want to come back!! It's a beautiful place

Excellent

Excellent! Very good food. Yas is the best guide. He told us many interesting things! We saw a lot of whales.
We found the hotel clean. From the hotel you can see whales.
Nicole is very attentive and helped us plan the stay. We were very happy.

Truly in nature but very rustic

This is a very off-the-beaten-path nature experience. If considering coming, ask yourself if you enjoy camping and if you say no, it might not be for you. If you say yes it may be the experience of your life. This is a private reserve owned and managed by a man who grew up on this land (and his very helpful, English-speaking wife). The food, the drink and the experience are very much local and a tradition of this place. We felt very good about spending our money here. The beach is totally private and one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. The jungle is really untouched and there are good opportunities for birds and reptiles (we saw poison frogs). The food all comes from the land which means a lot of fish, fruit and vegetables but they will provide beer or cocktails with local liquor (and fresh-squeezed juice). The cabins are open to the breeze and the insects - mosquito nets provided. Cold water only. No A/C and no electricity except a few hours every evening. Wifi works when electricity is on. It's 1.5 hours by boat from Nuqui, and Nuqui is fly-in only on a moderately small plane. Lots of opportunities for hikes and wildlife experiences but better if you speak Spanish as the guide does not speak English (he is happy to take you out anyway, though, and we did have a good experience but if we shared a language it would have helped). Bring your own binoculars and bird book.

A unique experience!!!!

It is a unique experience, in our case as a family. The jungle without human intervention as well as the beach are absolutely beautiful. Being disconnected, in the middle of nature with the sea just there is incredible. The walks through the jungle, the casada and the hot springs were lovely, you do have to be in shape but it is worth it. Jaz and Nicole are wonderful guardians of nature, incredible human beings. I thank the universe for this journey.
