Great hotel with a wonderful location

Wonderful hotel, the photos do not do this place justice it’s very very local to everywhere you need to be as well
Room is exactly what you need clean and fresh.
Pool is wonderful and temp is great
Breakfast is a little meh but it’s breakfast so can’t complain and cheap in comparison to eating out!
Thoroughly recommended

Staying at Hotel Pasatiempo was an intellectual romance—every detail curated thoughtfully enough to feel like an inside joke between you and the universe. The design is subtly brilliant, inviting a quiet admiration of tasteful choices that speak volumes without saying a word. The staff moves with understated genius, anticipating needs with a knowing smile as if reading your mind was just their baseline. And the comfort? Pure elegance disguised as simplicity—beds crafted so intelligently comfortable they practically whisper philosophy as you drift off. I left reluctantly, feeling oddly smarter, inspired, and already scheming my return.

The room was clean but small. The bathroom was extremely small, when you sat on the toilet your knees were touching the wall. Sower also very tight and small. Ants walking everywhere in the room and bathroom. The noise at night was unbearable, loud music blasting until 1:30 am.

Garden Oasis

I'm so glad we found Hotel Pasatiempo! Cozy little bungalows tucked around a garden setting. It was so relaxing to sit in the hammock on the patio and listen to the birds. Great pool, great staff, great restaurant, and within walking distance of everything to see and do in Tamarindo. We also took advantage of the little grocery store and drugstore across the street - both so convenient and with great staff.

Our 25th anniversary stay

This seemingly secluded hotel was perfectly situated in Tamarindo. Within five to ten minutes walking were the beach, shopping, and essentially all of the top rated restaurants. The hotel personnel could not have been better: from the front desk, including the owner, to the restaurant and bar staff, to the cooks, and to the room custodial staff. They all came out to bid goodbye & wish a safe journey home. All trips to surrounding areas were made immediately available at the front desk. It was the best, most accommodating stay we have ever experienced.
