Clean, safe and quiet.
La Casa Ucraniana is a family owned hotel south of Canoa on the beach. It is extremely comfortable with good mattresses and very clean rooms. They have an open air restaurant and serve 3 meals a day, Ukrainian food, not your normal Ecuadorian fare. Everyone is really friendly and helpful, and it is quiet and peaceful here. It is right on the beach so you can swim right in front of the hotel. And it is safe don't have to worry about being robbed here. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone staying in the Bahia/Canoa area.

Excellent service, "something different on the coast of Canoa"
This Ukrainian family offers a hostal on a protected property with a lovely clean beach as well as a family-run restaurant offering delicious and different food from their home country. Luda prepares sauces, pastries and breads with the flair of a certified chef.
We recently ate dinner there for a 'mafia night' event. We came in attire, played an interesting mafia game which had us all laughing, and enjoyed great company with our beach-side neighbors. Besides the contest winners and awards, we were entertained with a charleston style dance by costumed sisters Ala and Taisia.
This property and its restaurant are recommended for those who want 'something different on the beach in Canoa'. A must for both foreigners and tourists from the highlands.

Ukrainian home at Ecuador
Thank La Casa Ucraniana for a warm, homely atmosphere. It's very nice to have some cosy and friendly native place, when you are far away from home=)

Amazing Bed & Breakfast Hotel!
I recently visited this beautiful bed & breakfast hotel and really enjoyed my stay there. The best part – it’s located in amazing quiet location right next to the ocean and a beautiful beach, but at the same time very close to village of Canoa (just few minutes away by car, taxi, or bus). Towns of San Vicente and Bahia de Caraquez are very close by car or bus as well.
I stayed in hotel for one week and I was warmly welcomed by a wonderful family that runs this hotel. The hosts are super friendly and will go out of their way to help you get around the Canoa area. They also offer sightseeing tours.
Rooms are very cozy with great view of the beach and ocean. During daytime you can enjoy the beach and the ocean, or relax under the palms on hotel grounds. The sound of waves in the evening and night is soothing and unforgettable.
Also, this hotel has an amazing restaurant. They offer wide range of delicious Russian, Ukrainian, European and South American dishes. Their pierogi, soups, and cakes were incredibly delicious! Restaurant alone makes a visit to this hotel worthwhile.
Whenever I will visit Canoa area again, I will definitely stop at Hotel Riff. They have the best price/quality ratio compared to other hotels in Canoa area! I guarantee you will enjoy you stay in Hotel Riff!

Nice nice nice
I loved it! My fiance and I stayed there for a few days during our trip to Ecuador. We were looking for an inexpensive hotel and found this one, and were pleasantly surprised by service and quality of the hotel.
What we liked: The hotel is located right on the beach. The water was nice and warm and waves are amazing for surfing.
Hotel has their own restaurant. Delicious. They serve local and European cousine.
When we go back to Canoa, we will definitely stay at the Riff again
