Not at the old town but convenient with 20 min walk or 2 tram stops. Simple hotel. Generally comfortable. Good price but nothing around. No food choice.

Weekend staying in Tallinn Lillekula Hotel

Location of the hotel is convenient. The hotel it self is a modest one. The room also containing only the basic things needed. The TV reminded me the USSR times. The breakfast was also a simple one, the coffee was good!

Decent hotel for people on a budget

Stayed at this hotel from the 7th-10th September, an easy 25 minute commute on the number 4 Tram from the airport to Vineri. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the tram stop in a quiet neighbourhood, check in was easy and the women at reception was pleasant. We had room 203 on the second floor, there are no lifts btw. The room was basic but comfortable with a big double bed with a wooden Frame and a decent shower with plenty of hot water.
The hotel offered a breakfast that was basic but filled you up, there is a small shop 5 mins walk away that is open till 10pm that had drinks and snacks.

Look for something else

We knew it was a cheap hotel and didn't expect much, but it still sounded better from reviews than appeared. The hotel is located in a very uninviting area. Walking to the old town is possible, but it's still a good 15-20 minute walk through the area with little attractions. We were surprized that there was only 1 small store in this whole district and even that was closed at 16:00 (due to holiday).
The hotel is not inviting either. Looks from the outside and the inside like a modernized soviet building. We booked a double room, but there were 3 beds in our room. The extra bed taking the space which isn't enough in the room. The odor in the room wan't pleasant. The floor didn't seem to be swept well. Rust on the heat pipes in the room. Old TV. Wifi worked poorly. Not the cleanest bathroom either. No shampoo/shower gel - only some cheap kind of liquid soap on the sink. No room serivce.
Very poor breakfast - cheap with little choices. But the worst was the attitude of the personnel. The lady serving breakfast showed attitude as if guests were unwelcome intruders in this hotel. When the coffee ran out and she was asked for a refill she gave a look as if she was asked for a huge favor she wasn't in the mood to fulfill. The ladies at the check-in kept asking for a room number each time you passed by.
So the overall impression is of a hostel where you're not welcome at all.
Please look for a better place to stay not to ruin the impression of Tallinn.
