Very good choice this beachfront Pension.
It is always difficult to give an objective review since everyone's tastes are different, but I will give you mine.
I would start with the positives, nice well-treed Inn, man-sized about 80 rooms, so everything is close, the welcome the restaurant the pools the bar and the beach.
No complaints about the room, spacious, air conditioning, fridge, very good bedding, impeccable cleaning every day, attention no instructions for the safe, pity.
The restaurant, no huge buffet but more than enough, it is very good, there is the grill area with meat and fish at every meal, the pasta area, excellent fresh pasta since we are in a Pension with Italian majority, and the soups area, starters, and various dishes, the fish is excellent, a feast for amateurs.
Various desserts and fruits with each meal, watermelon, melon, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, banana... in short enough to satisfy the most difficult.
I forgot the excellent pancakes for breakfast.
The bar, next to the pool, never the crowd so great, beautiful environment, good cocktails, including Watamu, a mojito without mint but with passion fruit, a killing, and in the evening you have pop corn, mini pizza, and peanuts at will, too good peanuts!
On the beach side, never very crowded, so no need to wake up early to put your towel, comfortable mattresses and umbrellas, be careful there are the tides every day, and at low tide it is not possible to swim, but at low tide you can walk and go to the islands that are in front of the Inn.
At high tide no problem, the water is hot, not super clean but there is much worse, for snorkeling you can but no visibility in the water with sand and very few fish, so not interesting, it is not the Red Sea, after the islands there must be a coral reef but it is inaccessible, too many waves.
Beach cleaned every day, provide beach slippers.
In all the comments we talk about the beach boys, yes they are omnipresent, but they are forbidden to access the deckchairs, and to get rid of them at the Check-out well you have to refuse any conversation and kindly signal to them that you are not interested, and they will leave you alone, in fact they are trying to sell you small things, and accompany you on the foreshore to the islands...
There are a few hotels nearby including Bay Crystal, but it is the 7 Island best, especially for the beach.
On the personal side, they are charming, always ready to help, full of kindness, tips are appreciated.
Pension Location: no shop nearby, but on leaving the Pension take on the left, there is a superette ready, for tea lovers for example, it is at an Award Zithromaximum, and it is Kenyan tea.
The first shops are 30 minutes walk, otherwise you have the possibility to take a tuk-tuk, or a motorcycle taxi, there are many souvenir shops of all kinds, and no Chinese shop, it is local, and you have to bargain, we can divide the Award by about 3.
Few negatives:
A little far from Mombasa airport, 2 good hours and the road not top!
No typical Kenyan meal during the stay pity.
Very few French in the Pension, mostly Italian, so everything is written in Italian, not even in English, it is a shame, at least English.
Nevertheless, the staff makes an effort to communicate a minimum.
The rooms near the pool are a little noisy with evening entertainment, the music is too loud, even at the hour of aperitif, too loud the zique!
For the excursions we had a 4 day safari included in the package, otherwise you can contact Omar, you will find his number in the previous reviews, we made with him visit the mangrove with sunset over the lagoon, the ruins of Gede, super funny with the monkeys! and the Marafa Gorge, beautiful.
I think I've been around, but if you have any questions please feel free.
