Big surprise

Family stay well we arrived in front of the hotel. Frankly the front door really leaves something to be desired and when the door opened and was creaking we felt like Halloween. But after when we came home great amazement nothing to do with the outside, the very nice welcome when taking our reservation and the keys everything was perfectly clear and as soon as we went up to the first floor to see our room, just perfect, perfect room for a stay like us, made it very nice clean bedding at the appointment, beautiful, bathroom, with light, anti-fog on the mirror, and TV. All the platforms are there. The hotel is located 20 minutes from just opposite a garage where there are tuktuks so perfect for walking around Lisbon. Thanks again to the hotel that allowed us to have a great weekend. The breakfast was very delicious. Lacks a little diversity. But for the four days we spent, it was very good, thank you to the hotel for your welcome and your kindness. Pleasure

There is a lot of difference between the rooms and it takes Luck to be Contemplated

The initial experience could not have been worse. As soon as I finished the booking, I received a message from the hotel saying that my payment method had not been accepted and had 24 hours to submit another, otherwise the booking would be cancelled. I was curious about the message, even because Hotéis.com secured the reservation, but worried about the repercussion, that same night I went to the hotel. On arrival, I was taken care of by an employee who was very uninterested in helping. Just to get an idea, his initial phrase was: you didn't book this hotel. What I replied: How do you know I even introduced myself? And the treatment followed that line, until he finally realized the mistake and apologized. He said the hotel did not send a message to the guest and that everything was right at the beginning. Later I discovered the reason: of all hotels booked through Hotels.com, this was the only one that did not accept payment by the site, i.e. in addition to having to pay the amount in euros instead of real, I could not divide into 12 times without interest and still paid the IOF.
There was no trunk, actually, even if there was, I would first have to climb a ladder and would not fit in the elevator.
They allowed me to have access to the room before check-in time. The room was small. The air conditioner definitely didn’t heat in the cold and didn’t cool in the heat – in 2 different stays, in different rooms and the air didn’t work. Only this time the price charged was higher, because with heat, I had trouble sleeping. Also, because of the heat, left the window open which filled the room with insects. The phone didn't work in the first room either.
The little fridge bar didn't freeze. It took me almost midday to figure out the problem: someone took the device off the socket. I've been to hotels where, to save energy, the fridge bar is turned off. I'm in favour, but at least they left the outlet on the fridge bar to indicate that condition. Not even the hotel employee knew what the problem was and thought that removing the key also shut down the circuit serving the fridge bar. Only at night I discovered the take off the spot. An absurd! I want to emphasize that this was the only hotel that had fridge bar with freezer, that is, that really freezes what is inside, which although small in comparison to Brazilians, is still better than the standard in Portuguese hotels.
The small table barely carried my note with the mouse/keyboard combo. Worse not to read anything there, because there was no lighting. There was electric kettle and courtesy coffee and tea, which was answered one of the few times I released the room for cleaning. As well as sewing set and bucha to pass on shoe.
2 small elevators: to get up with my luggage, I had to put one suitcase over the other.
The TV was pretty big. I like to watch YouTube using the note, when possible I turn on the HDMI cable and watch the TV, but after trying a lot, I gave up – the space was scarce to wrap the hand and connect the cable. In the back room was the opposite, the TV was small, around 20 inches and a few inches. Horrible for those who no longer have a very good visual acuity.
The internet wifi is bad and swung a lot of signal with the traditional page symbol loading. One night he was gone.
Two supports for the suitcase that, due to the dimensions of the room and the bags, interfered with the passage.
On the issue of safety: no magic eye and no lock. There was a small safe inside the wardrobe, but it was locked – useless – and once again it seemed to have been installed in an improvised place, because it interrupted the hanging clothes.
The hotel is not in the most privileged part of the centre, but is close to everything. Of course that means a hellish noise, mainly because in the first stay I was placed in a front room. On the return, I stayed in a higher room and “behind” which I thought was much quieter. In addition to the renovation the hotel was going through, there was a badly seated bueiro in the street behind which every car that passed made a noise. Afh!
There were 2 curtains. The lighter curtain even fulfilled its role of protecting privacy, but it would be better if it was brighter, so more light could enter. By the blecaut leaked a lot of light, which bothered me a lot. Only there in the middle of the first stay, I realized that there was an external blinds that descended to the floor (from the sacada) which solved the question of “invasion” of light, a pity that I lost good days of sleep until I found out.
The pillows are not good, but with good will you will find one that satisfies you. The mattresses with springs packed... with bodies bags, because they are dead, I say... “beaten” and “sink” causing muscle pains, besides discomfort. This occurred both in the first room with double mattress, and in the second single.
In the first room, in addition to the friendly bag, there was a good capacity wardrobe with drawers. There was also board and iron to pass clothes.
In the tiny bathroom there was an electric heater – it was the first time I saw it – and it was very welcome. In Portugal, private brushing is common, which should be the norm everywhere. The big sink tap matched well with the huge cuba. The bath area is so narrow that I think it is difficult to make a good hygiene and even has room for you to leave the soap and shampoo. In the room on the 5th floor, the shower water dropped out in a bath, much more spacious than in the first room. And by talking about ameties: a little soap, shampoo and body lotion both with a lid. The towels were removed.
The maidens only spent one day in the room during the stay, because they do not give maintenance after noon, this moment that freed the room. Even in that past, I don’t know if they changed the towels, because I didn’t leave them on the floor as they recommend, because I didn’t know if they would – I put them on the floor, don’t you pass there I’ll have to use a towel that was on the floor?
The staff was very friendly, but the highlight was Maranhense Wesley. Good people!
Coffee is charged separately, but as they were in works in the period, not so.
Considering that I am not a “normal tourist”, because I have lived in hotels for a decade, in what I value most like TV, air conditioning, fridge bar, internet wifi, maintenance and service, location, quality of sleep and, finally, most importantly, the relationship between these and the cost of the daily would say that the hotel was bad. The problem with Expedia, the internet, the air conditioning, the lack of a larger counter to work and the bathroom space in some rooms are difficult problems to overcome. The hotel shared contradictory aspects: some rooms had balconies others did not, others had claustrophobic bathrooms in others the bathrooms were larger and there it goes.
I have tried to justify the price of some American hotels by relying on features that do not exist in Brazilian hotels, but how to justify the high price of Portuguese hotels, even if compared to Brazilian ones that are much cheaper.
It has never been easy to get a good hotel in the centre of any capital, as they are usually old projects and age is felt, especially if the administration has not much interest in updating it or keeping the maintenance up to date, because it is often preferable to charge a “price more in charge” than spend a high value on reforms. I have put the expression above between assps, because supply and demand is still the law of the market, so it is interesting to realize that exactly when the hotel's loading is high and the value of the nights go, it is the time that the quality of the services provided fall. I always hated living in hotels and after 10 years, my patience is at its limit. You end up having a list of hotels where you don’t return in any way – which has grown a lot – another list of hotels you prefer to avoid and in the middle of it all, you still have to consider the value of the daily. The option ends up being at least worse.

It’s wasn’t the best stay at a hotel I’ve experienced but not the worst. Was a little dirty in areas and daily housekeeping was okay

Nice hotel for a few days stay. Opposite a petrol station so rather noisy sometimes. Our shower broke and wasn't fixed for our last 2 days sadly and there was a problem with the internet so we didn't have access to that in our room either! But it was clean, the breakfast was sufficient and the staff were lovely. Short (uphill) walk from a convenient Metro station. Surrounding area rather rundown.

I stayed in this property at the end of a 3-week trip through Europe. It was, by far, the most comfortable place I stayed. This might seem like a small thing, but the bed was SO comfy, and I had the best night's sleep of the whole trip. The staff at the front desk was super nice and helpful, especially Weslley, and the location was perfect- just outside the city center but easy to get to the touristy parts. I hope to come back soon!
