Cannot recommend

Unfortunately, one of my worst experiences ever was with ”Home Hotel” over Christmas. In difficult Covid times they had zero flexibility. Do not pay in advance, and you deserve better to stay elsewhere. There are good other alternatives in the nice village of Arosa.

Boutique Hotel

Leave the train station and begin walking t o your right. The hotel will be on the right after a 5 to 10 minute walk depending on your pace.
The hotel is co-sited with a furniture store which in itself makes it unique.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Their English was very good and the 16 room hotel is interesting to say the least. My room was a single on the third floor and while it was small it never approached claustrophobic.
Coffee & tea bar is open 24 hours and while the coffee is really good. The tea selection is amazing.

For Switzerland, and especially Arosa, not a bad price

Please keep in mind that rarely do I book a hotel in Switzerland given that it is my native country, but because of restrictions it happened this year. We were here for 3 nights in summer and among the positive aspects of this place is the location. Because of its central position, the train station is at a 5 minute walking distance (post as well) and the squirrel path is also very close. However, because it is located on the road, this hotel does not have its own parking. We were advised to park on an attached street (1 minute walking distance). The price for the parking is cheap at night and increases during the day (still remains reasonable). The second potential negative aspect of the road is that it could (potentially) become noisy at night. Now, we were sleeping on the opposite side so did not hear anything. Also, the road is possibly not extremely used at night, so I think you should be able to sleep comfortably. There is however, the church which faces the hotel and this one could potentially interrupt your sleep. Upon entering the building you will find a corridor and the reception is located on the left. It is perhaps not so clear for newcomers, as upon arrival we did not see anyone here and the reception consists of one singular table (low table) with a computer. The classic reception with high tables and the hidden computers behind these is not to be expected here (just so you know what you are looking for). Because there was no one at the desk we had to ring the bell located on the table. I am not sure what the common area exactly is, but looks like a furniture shop (the chairs at the fourth floor are for sale). The receptionist was extremely friendly as he showed us were we could park and also took the time to print the Arosa cards for us. This is definitely a plus of staying here, as you will get the free access to cablecars and other attractions in the town. The rooms are very very small ( you will notice upon entering that the bed takes up almost all of the room, with the size of the bathroom and shower also being quite small). There was a wooden closet in the room and the bed was quite comfortable. I can however see where the manager of the hotel was heading, as the rooms are entitled according to some element of the Earth (wood, metal, water, ...) and the room is themed that way. This is perhaps the original touch they wanted to give in addition to the cover of the pillows highlighting the name of the location. Overall I would say that the hotel does correspond to the official three star rating: because of the location and the type of building it is probably not possible to extend the size of the rooms without renouncing on the current number of customers (this is also valid for the missed parking and reception/common area, bathroom). We ended up spending 100 CHF/night which I believe is quite average/good for Arosa. Again, I do not usually stay in touristic places in Switzerland as I myself am Swiss but by visiting restaurants in the town I could notice that this place is more expensive than the average Swiss town. Regarding the price, the negative note is possibly the breakfast with a price of 30CHF. I do not know what they serve (maybe they serve all the cheese, yougurt, meat imaginable) but that seems quite expensive. Suggestion: facing the hotel is a tea room which opens at 7 AM and the prices are a lot cheaper. If you are just a few people coming to Arosa, on a budget and with relatively low overnight standards (not a 5 star hotel or something like this) this might be the place you are looking for (except for the breakfast part; either you wait for lunch or you can visit the tea room). If you are instead many (more than 4 per room) and have higher standards, you might want to look into something else.

Thank you for all your comments. We are not a conventional hotel as our two business's are combined together. An interior decorators and a designer Hotel. The reception is a part of the shop giving our hotel guests the opportunity to find the products from the hotel in the shop. We designed everything ourselves from the bedlinen to the towels. We have different categories of rooms from a basic single, to luxury suites with a kitchen, approx 40m2 so the guest is flexible depending on his budget. We are situated on the main road so that all facilities are very close to us. Luckily the church bells don't ring in the night and no cars are allowed to drive between 12pm and 6 am making the main road very quiet. Regarding the breakfast: we offer different rates and of course booking breakfast at the hotel is more expensive then taking the room with breakfast rate when you are doing your online booking. We offer breakfast from 7.30 till 10.00 in the summer and from 7.30 till 12.00 in the winter. We have a large selection of local products and serve all egg dishes, omelettes, eggs Benedict etc The majority of people eating our breakfast/ brunch don't need anything lunch. We hope to see you again in Home Hotel and you could try our breakfast for a good start the day
