For the price point of the property you have to go in with certain expectations, I had these expectations altered during my stay, the room was clean, the bed was comfy and the host was very kind and helpful. I specifically stayed in the Double Room with King Bed and ensuite and cant fault anything.

What a Dump

Sakura Hotel Edinburgh $754.75 ca for 6 days.
The Location is Amazing but This place is a Dump, I only wish I had read some reviews before I booked it. I spent the first hour looking for another place to stay to no avail. It's not a B&B, the shared bathroom is actually 2 rooms, a toilet with a the smallest sink know to man with the room so small the walls were just about touching my elbows, and a shower room with a makeshift and feeble shower stall, a sink with no stopper and both sinks had separate hot and cold taps and were dank. My room was a small zig zag and had a very small bed that was against 3 walls of it, meaning you had to crawl over the bed to get to the sink by the window and back again to get to the entrance door. The TV in the room was absolutely useless, a 12" and was mounted 6 feet up on the wall which you could not see if you were laying down in bed and it sounded terrible. The 2 entrance doors to the building had loose key locks and when I offered to fix them, I was refused and told "oh they get loose all the time we fix them all the time" (according to some reviews I've read they've been broken since 2019. No temperature control for the room either. my second day in I had to answer the door to 2 travel wary clients because there was no one available to check them in and no one answering the phone number provided. I basically had to tell them to go for a coffee somewhere and keep trying the number, oh yah because there was no common room either. I'm not even sure if this place is up to Edinburgh accommodation standards and was very temped to report them.

Purple dungeon

Supposedly private bathroom down the hall with no lock on outside not sure it was private dark room with no window. Front door lock loose. Uncomfortable beds description said laundry facilities there are none. Hospitality tray was well stocked though.

The place was damp, smelly with cracked bathroom walls & a centipede in the toilet!

All in all good, if compared to the cheap price. Kind staff.
The problem is that they are not clear enough in the booking flow, since they sold me a room with garden view and I ended in a room at level -1 with one tiny window heading nowhere (probably facing a wall considering the darkness). The bathroom was private but external, but this was not specified in the booking.
I would have booked the room anyways, therefore I’d recommend the property to be more specific on the room’s characteristics.
