Loved our stay here! Absolutely recommend

Would give a higher rating if I could! From the minute I booked, Kacey was really helpful and we had a lovely welcome when we got there. The room was beautiful and we had the most relaxing evening and nights sleep. Lacey has her own dogs so made the accommodation really dog friendly. We ordered dinner in advance and had the included breakfast the next day. All delicious and freshly cooked. There was even a little doggie breakfast treat available! Will definitely stay again if we’re up that way. Thank you for a lovely stay Kacey!

Great find in Gills Bay!

We stumbled across Burnside Cottage while browsing google maps near the Pentland ferry terminal area in Gills Bay. What a great find! A super relaxing countryside location, just a 3 minute drive to catch the early bird ferry to Orkney. Owner/host Kacey was kind and accommodating and is very familiar with the area. She made us a couple of meals that I think were the best of our three week trip. We have zero complaints after our stay here!

A hidden gem in Scotland

Our stay as a family of five at this secluded cottage was amazing. Tucked away in a peaceful, remote location, it's the ideal spot to unwind. The hostess is incredibly perfectionist, and it shows in the care she puts into every detail. She personally prepares all the meals, and you can really feel the passion she pours into her cooking. Everything was delicious, especially the lemon tart, which was exquisite. The rooms were cozy and quiet, ensuring a restful stay. The hostess was always available to help, making us feel truly welcome. If you're looking for a serene place to relax and explore the nearby cliffs, this is the perfect stop in Scotland :)

What a lovely find

What a lovely find, we had a super room, hot shower, comfy bed and a really great meal, ordered in advance. Breakfast was incredible. Kacey was just lovely a fantastic host. The location was perfect for our crossing to Orkney from Gills Bay early the next morning.
