Perfect place to stay and short walk to the heart of York

Fantastic place to stay, great facilities and superb room, lovely to have such a great studio giving you plenty is space to chill.
Great walk along the river and over the bridge and you are in the heart of the Shambles ! Perfect !

Let down by very poor service

Good quiet location, nice well appointed apartment, but the good news ended there, mostly due to lack of attention to details and poor customer service. The heating in our apartment was too cold downstairs and too warm upstairs. It didn’t seem to matter what we did with it, it stayed the same. Reception saw to it but turned all up to 27 degrees and locked out the controls. We never really got the heating to work properly. Then our TV stopped working, as did the phone so we traipsed down to reception to report both. We only got both working on our last day. Our room was not cleaned despite a tab on our door being placed well before the cut off time. We had to collect fresh towels ourselves and, despite promises, the old ones were never collected. Also, no shower gel in the bathroom and the toilet paper ran out. Out of all our polite requests at reception I think we only received one apology. We don’t often complain as hospitality standards nowadays tend to be high but this is the worst hotel customer service experience either of us can recall having for a very long time.

Great room with a view of the river! The only thing is that there is no soundproofing between floors and the person(s) above me stomped everywhere. I think Frankenstein's monster was above me. That's not the hotel's fault. Some people just stomp for some reason I will never understand. Just beware that if you sleep lightly, and you gave a person above you that doesn't understand how to use their knees and ankles, you will not sleep unless they are... Again, not the fault of the hotel. The hotel and staff where great. It was clean, modern, comfortable, and easy to get to.

Just spent two nights at Rommz york . Had a great time hotel and room is spotless. Loved the fact you can cook if you choose. But the croissant in the morning is a lovely touch. Can’t fault the staff especially Lydia who was extremely friendly and helpful. Would not hesitate to stay again.

Thanks for a great stay!
Very comfortable bed, great shower, nice quiet, pretty location within a short walk of the city centre.
Staff were friendly and welcoming. It was great having the option of free access to tea and coffee anytime in the foyer as well as complementary croissants in the morning.
The kitchenette area in the room was very useful too.
Another BIG plus was being able to store our bags in a locker for no extra charge after checkout. This enabled us to explore the city the following day without having the trouble of booking locker storage elsewhere.
We only stayed one night but wished we had booked for longer. I would definitely return to this accommodation if I’m ever visiting York again.
Only one slight negative - the advertised price dropped marginally after our confirmed booking.
However, we thought this aparthotel was good value for money. If you’re trying to decide - don’t hesitate, just book it. I highly recommend this accommodation.
